The student population at historic Antioch College will more than double in size on Tuesday, October 1, when 99 new undergraduates arrive for fall orientation and move in to North Hall.
The College received more than 800 applications for fall 2013 admission. Many students turned down offers from other elite colleges to become partners with the faculty and administrators in rebuilding the institution. The class that will arrive in just a few days is noteworthy for several reasons.
They are, of course, academically capable with an average unweighted high school GPA of 3.65 and an average ACT score of 26. Moreover, they are gritty, possessing the quintessentially Antiochian will to overcome challenges and articulate new solutions.
