Div Day By The Bay: A West Coast Antioch Alumni Reunion

Saturday, April 12, 2014

2:30—9:30 p.m.

Program:

Music, Dancing, and Entertainment: Enjoy afternoon performances by local Alums.  Join in Red Square Folk Dancing with Mark Post ’65, 4:00—5:30 p.m.  Potluck Dinner at 6:00 p.m. with entertainment including a tribute to Pete Seeger sing-along, with special guests.  After dinner, dance the night away. Network: Display your books, CDs, business cards, small art pieces, etc., with ample opportunities to network with other alumni.  Contact David Vincent ’65 at davincent@sbcglobal.net for more information.

Horace Talks: Come hear short presentations by alumni, 3:00—5:30 p.m.  For more information, contact David Southern '73 at dlsouthern@aol.com.  Presentations include talks on immigration rights, urban gardening, sea kayaking in Italy, Antioch folk dancing, organizing Holocaust survivors, and performances.

Report from the College: 5:30 p.m. We are all excited to hear the news from Antioch. In addition, Dr. Gabrielle Civil, Antioch College's Associate Professor of Performance will join us for a performance you won't want to miss.  If you have a friend or relative who is interested in applying to the College, feel free to extend an invitation!

Food and Wine: Bring a dish to share that does not require cooking; we will be able to keep dishes warm. We will provide drinks and wine will be available for a small donation. Let us know what you plan to bring to maximize coordination. Contact Ellen Fiss '76 at efiss@pacbell.net.

Suggested donation at the door: $20, to help cover expenses. If you need a place to stay or are willing to offer up a spare bed, contact John Knox ’68 at johnknox@earthisland.org.

Antioch College alumni are invited to attend a session during the 2014 AMST Conference at Brandeis University. Panelists will include Robert Fogarty, Editor of the Antioch Review, Michael Meyers, President and Executive Director of the New York Civil Rights Coalition, Nasha Levitt Miller '50, retired social worker, and Scott Sanders, Antioch College Archivist. The session will be moderated by Lester Lee '72.
