Congressman John Lewis announced as speaker for Reunion/Commencement 2015

President Mark Roosevelt and the Antioch College Board of Trustees are thrilled to announce Congressman John Lewis as the commencement speaker for the College’s combined Reunion/Commencement 2015: “From Civil Rights to Social Justice” to be held June 18-21, 2015.

Often called “one of the most courageous persons the Civil Rights Movement ever produced,” John Lewis has dedicated his life to protecting human rights and securing civil liberties in America. His dedication to the highest ethical standards and moral principles has won him the admiration of many of his colleagues on both sides of the aisle in the United States Congress.

“For more than 50 years, Congressman John Lewis has been an activist and champion on behalf of issues of import, civil rights, human rights and social justice,” said Frances Degen Horowitz ‘54 chair of the Antioch Board of Trustees.
