Antioch Board Advances College Village

The Antioch College Board of Trustees announced it will take the next step toward developing its vision for an intergenerational housing project called the Antioch College Village. The Board will establish a dedicated task force to identify equity and development partners to move the project forward.

Dear Antioch College Alums: I invite you to join me in an Antioch challenge. As you probably know, the Higher Learning Commission’s 5-member accreditation team visits Antioch in early November. They will review and evaluate Antioch’s Criteria for Accreditation. Antioch’s 5-year progress toward meeting full accreditation standards by June 2016 is remarkable. The one possible area of real concern is financial, especially “cash on hand” to meet immediate expenses.

Spotlight: Board of Trustee Max King

The beleaguered August Wilson Center announced new funding, programming and board members in the latest effort to bring the African-American arts institution into financial viability and to fulfill its mission as a cultural institution. The six-year-old Downtown center, named after famed playwright August Wilson who set most of his works in his native Pittsburgh, went bankrupt last year and narrowly avoided becoming a hotel. Board of Trustees welcomes Elise Roenigk ’64

The Antioch College Board of Trustees voted unanimously this month to elect alumna Elise Roenigk ’64 as new trustees of the College, Frances Degen Horowitz ’54, Board chair, announced. “We are delighted to welcome Elise Roenigk ’64 to the Board of Trustees,” Frances Horowitz, chair of the Antioch College Board of Trustees. “She brings to our work her extensive experience in management and business and in historic restoration and preservation, as well as a deep commitment to and understanding of the importance of helping Antioch College thrive and prosper in its purposes.”
